T20, ODI and Test — what changes across each format?
T20 Cricket
With only twenty overs of play, every ball can change the outcome of the match. BPL and IPL T20 matches are the most popular among Bangladeshi fans. Because of the rapid changes in the game, this format also sees the highest demand in live betting markets.
Fast ResultsODI Cricket
This fifty-over format requires both strategy and patience. ICC World Cups and bilateral series are played in the ODI format. From a betting perspective, the top batsman and innings runs total markets offer the widest range of options here.
Mid-Match SwingTest Cricket
In this five-day format, pitch, weather and batting order all play an important role. The betting markets are also distinct — innings totals, session scores and the match draw market are features specific to Test cricket. This format holds a special place for those with a deep interest in cricket.
Five-Day Contest
BPL, IPL and International Matches
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is the closest tournament to local fans. The involvement of Bangladeshi franchises in every match makes the interest among fans particularly strong. The IPL, on the other hand, has its own dedicated following in Bangladesh — especially as this T20 league brings together the best cricketers in the world on one stage.
The excitement that builds across the country during Bangladesh Tigers matches at the T20 World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy is clearly reflected in cricket betting markets too. At no good88, markets for all these tournament matches are available in one place.
Betting on Football and Other Sports
Beyond cricket, no good88 also offers betting on football and other popular sports. There are, however, several differences between cricket and football betting markets.
In football, a draw is a genuine result, so the match winner market has three options — Team A win, Team B win, draw. In ODI and T20 cricket there is generally no draw (ties and super overs are separate matters), so only two options are available. Because a draw is possible in Test matches, the market differs accordingly.
Football has special markets such as half-time score, goalscorer and both teams to score, which do not exist in cricket. Conversely, wicket-based markets or partnership runs markets found in cricket are not available in football. Understanding each sport's own markets makes betting far more enjoyable.

The 7 Cricket Markets played most often
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which team will win the match. For example, in an ODI between Team A and Team B, you select Team B.
Ideal for BeginnersToss Winner
Bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. The result is known quickly and this bet can be placed independently of the other markets in the match.
Quick SettlementTop Batsman
Bet on which batsman will score the most runs for their team. Knowing the team's playing eleven makes it easier to analyse this market.
Individual PerformanceTotal Runs Over/Under
The bookmaker sets a runs line — for example 160 runs. You bet on whether the team will score more (over) or fewer (under) than that number.
Pitch Analysis RequiredFirst Wicket to Fall
Bet on the score at which the first wicket will fall. Various run ranges are available and the result is known early in the match, which makes this market particularly popular.
Innings Opening MarketMulti Bet
Combine multiple selections from multiple matches for a chance at higher returns — but if any one selection loses, the entire bet is lost. Detailed multi bet strategies are discussed on the Betting Tips page.
Higher Return, Higher RiskSeventh Market: Session Runs (Test and ODI only)
You can place an over/under bet on how many runs will be scored in a specific session or powerplay. In Test matches, the morning, afternoon and evening sessions are each available as separate markets. This market is more commonly used by experienced bettors.
Decimal, Fractional and American Odds
The same odds on a betting platform may be displayed in three different ways. Knowing all three formats makes any market easier to understand.
Example 1 — The Same Odds in Three Formats
Team A to win, ৳200 bet: Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. If the bet wins, the return is ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 original bet). If the bet loses, ৳200 is gone.
Decimal odds show the total return including the original bet (3.00 × ৳200 = ৳600). Fractional 2/1 means ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked. American +200 means ৳200 profit on a ৳100 bet.
Example 2 — Odds for the Favourite
Team B to win (favourite), ৳200 bet: Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American −200. If the bet wins, the return is ৳300 (৳100 profit + ৳200 original bet).
American minus odds (−200) show how much you need to bet to win ৳100 in profit — here it is ৳200. Odds are lower on the favourite because the probability of winning is considered higher.
How do odds change when a wicket falls?
In-play or live betting lets you bet while the match is in progress. With every ball, every wicket and every over, the odds in the market keep changing. This is the most active part of cricket betting.
When a Wicket Falls
When the batting team loses a wicket, the fielding team's odds of winning generally shorten (meaning their probability increases) while the batting team's odds lengthen. If wickets fall quickly during the powerplay, this shift happens very fast.
After a Big Over
In a big over (say 18–20 runs), odds shift quickly in favour of the batting team. In live markets, the market may also be briefly suspended at such moments.
Duckworth-Lewis Situation
When overs are reduced in a rain-affected match, the target is revised. Live market odds are then recalculated accordingly.
Final Over Drama
When the contest is level in the last few overs, odds swing after every ball. The live market is most active at these moments.
Before getting into live betting, it helps to understand how a betting exchange works and the difference between BACK and LAY bets. You can find detailed information on this on the Betting Tips and Strategies page.
Things to keep in mind before starting cricket betting
- Understand the format first. T20, ODI and Test markets are different. Starting with one format and playing regularly will help you get comfortable gradually.
- Focus on one or two markets. Rather than betting on all markets at once, build experience with match winner or total runs markets first.
- Stick to a budget. Only bet what you can afford to lose. Betting is a form of entertainment, not a financial plan.
- Be careful with multi bets. Even though returns are higher, losing any one selection in a multi bet means the whole bet is lost. Start with fewer selections.
- Live betting requires quick decisions. Get comfortable with pre-match betting first, then move to live.
- Treat betting at no good88 as entertainment. Only those aged 21 and over may open an account. If betting becomes a problem, read the responsible gaming guidelines.
